TUTORIALS WITH OSCAR

My research on the way metals are connected to ceramics is mainly based on the plasticity of metals after melting. Through the special structure of the ceramic object, the melted metal can be locked together with the ceramic to achieve fixation.
In our discussion with Oscar, we thought that in order for the connecting structure to be more clearly visible to the audience, perhaps a transparent, but also melted and cast material could be used to combine with the ceramic. So we came up with glass.
During the discussion, Oscar recommended me some glass-related objects and artists for me to investigate.
On the left is a glass insulator commonly used for high-voltage cables. They are made from glass molten stampers.
Artist ATTUA has many works related to glass and ceramics. I was particularly amazed by her approach to joining ceramics to metal and glass.
In addition, Oscar also recommended me some glass suppliers.
Pyrex mainly deals in food-grade glass products. They are made of borosilicate glass, which has very good thermal properties. It can withstand high temperature and a large degree of alternating heat and cold and heat to compensate for rupture.
