A EXIHIBITION
11 JUL 2023
This was the first exhibition I saw when I returned home. It featured many classic product designs from the last century. From motorbikes to radios and even aeroplane seats.
I couldn't help but wonder why the modernist design language of the last century was so intriguing. Perhaps it's because the exposure of functional parts influenced the stylistic language of the product to a certain extent. Compared to the extreme black-box user logic of contemporary design, it seems difficult to explore the form of a product through its function. Is form following function becoming incompatible in contemporary design contexts?
